A Holiday Celebration of Great Joy!!

JOIN US THIS WEEKEND AND DISCOVER MYSTERIES OF YOUR FAITH'S RICH HEBRAIC ROOTS !
*Who was Yeshua (Jesus) the Jew from Nazareth, ISRAEL?
*What happened with His disciples when they waited in the Upper Room, in JERUSALEM, as He instructed?
*Why did Yeshua say it was BETTER that He go away, so He could send the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit)?

Congregation Beth Hallel WELCOMES ALL to examine these mysteries and more, this Friday May 18th at 7:00 PM for our Erev Shabbat Service.
On Saturday May 19 at 11:00 am, the adventure continues at the Yom Shabbat Service.

We will be celebrating SHAVUOT, the Feast of Weeks, which occurs on the 50th day after Passover, by concluding the "Counting of the Omer", and the Giving of the Word of the Lord on Mount Sinai. Shavuot also marks the time when Adonai, the Lord,  sent us the Ruach HaKodesh, the Holy Spirit, as promised by Yeshua, Jesus. In the Christian world this is known as PENTECOST which is a Greek term from Hellenist Jews meaning "The 50th Day." Note that the New Covenant parallels and fulfills the Old Covenant!

We are fortunate to have as our guest speaker, Professor Gerald McDermott, from The Beeson School of Divinity at Samford University, who will provide answers for these important questions, and teach us the role of Israel in God's eternal Covenant plan!

Dr. Gerald McDermott is the author of several books, the newest of which is "Israel Matters." We will have copies of "Israel Matters available for sale, while supplies last. Dr. McDermott has graciously agreed to offer a Book Signing time after services Friday and Saturday.

Don't miss this extraordinary opportunity to encounter the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob at one of His Appointed Times! God always keeps His appointments!

CELEBRATING HEBRAIC-STYLE always includes ISRAELI DANCING and HOLIDAY FOODS and FREE & EDUCATIONAL CARE FOR CHILDREN!!

INVITE YOUR FRIENDS - ALL ARE WELCOME!!!

Love and Shalom from Rabbi David & Rebbetzin Leslye Schneier

Shabbat this weekend at Beth Hallel, 2230 Sumpter St., Birmingham, AL 35226
Erev Shabbat, May 11, 2018 at 7:00 pm: "The Irrationality of Evil."
Yom Shabbat, May 12, 2018 at 11 am: "The Necessity of Rest"

On Erev Shabbat, Friday, May 11, 2018, we will look at the irrationality of evil through the choices of Adam and Eve, the experience of the Jewish people in pagan and Christian cultures and the final battle for the souls of men, women and children.

On Yom Shabbat, Saturday, May 12, 2018, we will consider the Lord's commandment to rest in the seemingly never ending busyness of the life we live in today. Please join us at Beth Hallel as we move though the season of the counting of the Omer between the redemption found in Passover and the receiving of the Lord's word and His Spirit during Shavuot. Blessings, love and Shalom from Rabbi David & Rebbetzin Leslye Schneier

PS: This weekend we will celebrate Rosh Chodesh, the new month of Sivan. During this month both the Torah and the Ruach HaKodesh, the Holy Spirit were given to the Jewish people and then to the nations through the life, death and resurrection of Yeshua, Jesus, the Messiah of Israel and the savior of the nations. When we observe the month in which the Torah was given to Israel we acknowledge that time itself is rooted in the Biblical calendar as well as the divinely inspired Feasts of the Lord. Please prepare a special Rosh Chodesh offering as well as your tithe as we gather for this important new month in His calendar.
